About

Our History

Parker Ford & Mackay was established in 1974  as a specialty contact lens clinic and opticians. The clinic has been a downtown presence ever since. Parker Ford and Mackay works alongside Dr. Brent Saik and his associate optometrists of Alberta Sports Vision Institute to offer you comprehensive eye care.

Dr. Jenelle Trenchuk-Saik

Dr. Trenchuk-Saik got her start in Lacombe, AB, where she graduated from high school and began her post-secondary career at Burman University (formerly Canadian University College). In 1999, she travelled to Scotland to continue her studies, explore the country and, eventually, to begin Optometry training at the University of Glasgow. In 2009, after transferring to the University of Waterloo in order to complete her schooling in Canada, Jenelle graduated on the Dean’s List. A year after she began practicing, she met Dr. Brent Saik and joined the Alberta Sports Vision Institute family. Dr. Trenchuk-Saik proudly works with local sports teams including the Eskimos and Oilers alongside Brent, now her husband, as well as working with him to organize, execute and participate in the World’s Longest Hockey Game in support of the Alberta Cancer Foundation (to date she is still the only woman to bravely face this feat – we’re so proud). In her spare time, Jenelle spends time at the lake with her two kids and the rest of the family, playing in the family band, and travelling when possible. She is a valued member of the Parker Ford and Mackay team, providing patients with comprehensive eye exams, post-operative exams, medically necessary appointments including diabetic exams, and pediatric eye exams.
