About

Our History

Parker Ford & Mackay was established in 1974 and has been a downtown presence ever since. Originally founded by Howard Parker and Robert Ford, we have evolved from an amalgamation of several independent optical stores, including Comfort Contact Lens, Francis & Mackay Optical, Campus Optical and the Royal Alex Vision Centre. Parker Ford and Mackay has also welcomed Dr. Brent Saik and his associate optometrists from the Alberta Sports Vision Institute into our practice to offer you even more comprehensive eye care.

Dr. Dana Reynolds

After being named as valedictorian of his high school in his home town of Cold Lake, AB, Dr. Dana Reynolds continued his studies at Simon Fraser University in BC where he attained his BSc in Kinesiology, graduating in 1996. Dana then moved east, to the University of Waterloo’s school of Optometry. He completed his schooling in 2001, proudly being named to the University’s Dean’s List. After completing his primary care internship with Dr. Brent Saik in 2000, Dr. Reynolds began working with Dr. Saik’s Alberta Sports Vision Institute in 2001. Dana has enjoyed opportunities to work with the Edmonton Oilers and Eskimos, participate in the World’s Longest Hockey Game fundraiser for the Alberta Cancer Foundation and to practice at Parker Ford and Mackay. Dana resides in Sherwood Park with his wife and daughter and enjoys anything hockey and football related and taking in the latest superhero movie with his daughter! He is a valued member of the Parker Ford and Mackay team, providing patients with comprehensive eye exams, post-operative exams, medically necessary appointments including diabetic exams, and pediatric eye exams.

Dr. Jenelle Trenchuk-Saik

Dr. Trenchuk-Saik got her start in Lacombe, AB, where she graduated from high school and began her post-secondary career at Burman University (formerly Canadian University College). In 1999, she travelled to Scotland to continue her studies, explore the country and, eventually, to begin Optometry training at the University of Glasgow. In 2009, after transferring to the University of Waterloo in order to complete her schooling in Canada, Jenelle graduated on the Dean’s List. A year after she began practicing, she met Dr. Brent Saik and joined the Alberta Sports Vision Institute family. Dr. Trenchuk-Saik proudly works with local sports teams including the Eskimos and Oilers alongside Brent, now her husband, as well as working with him to organize, execute and participate in the World’s Longest Hockey Game in support of the Alberta Cancer Foundation (to date she is still the only woman to bravely face this feat – we’re so proud). In her spare time, Jenelle spends time at the lake with her two kids and the rest of the family, playing in the family band, and travelling when possible. She is a valued member of the Parker Ford and Mackay team, providing patients with comprehensive eye exams, post-operative exams, medically necessary appointments including diabetic exams, and pediatric eye exams.
