Myopia

Myopia, commonly known as near-sightedness, is a condition in which parallel rays of light come to focus at a point just in from of the retina (located at the back of the eye). The diagram below shows how parallel light rays come to focus just in from of the retina in a myopic eye.
Myopia manifests as blurred distance vision (as pictured).
